11. SUZHOU 苏州
Suzhou (transliterated as "Su-chow") with with 2,5 million inhabitants and its 2500 years
history is one of the oldest towns in the Yangtze River Delta region. The town is called the
"Venice of China" because it has 72 canals, and old houses and taverns on the banks.
Suzhou is also famous of its nice gardens, and nine of those are on UNESCO World
Heritage list.
We made a day trip by train (120 km from Shanghai) to see the gardens, the canals.

Suzhou (etsd: Szu-Zsó) 2,5 millió lakosával és 2500 éves történelmével az
egyik legrégebbi város a Jangce-delta vidékén. A várost "Kína Velencéje" néven
emlegetik, mivel 72 csatornája van, és ezek partján régi házak, vendéglők sorakoznak.
Suzhou híres még szép kertjeiről is, amelyek közül kilenc az UNESCO Világörökség
listán van.
