The Heroes' Square in Budapest - A Hősök tere Budapesten

The Heroes' Square in Budapest is surrounded by two important buildings: Museum of Fine Arts on the left and Palace of Art (or more accurately Hall of Art) on the right. In the middle of the square  there is  a column topped by a statue of archangel Gabriel. The column is surrounded by the statues of the seven ancient tribe leaders: Árpád, Előd, Ond, Kond, Tas, Huba, Töhötöm. The back of the monument consists of two  colonnades, each with seven statues representing great figures of Hungarian history.
A budapesti Hősők tere bal oldalán a Szépművészeti Múzeum és jobb oldalán a Műcsarnok épülete áll. A tér közepén levő oszlop teteján Gábriel arkangyal szobra van. Az oszlop körül a hét magyar vezér -  Árpád, Előd, Ond, Kond, Tas, Huba, Töhötöm - szobra található.  A műemlékegyüttes fontos része a negyedkör alakú oszlopsor, amely mindegyikében hét fontos magyar történelmi személyiség szobra látható.

History of the Millenium Monument - A Milleniumi Emlékmű emlékmű története
a./ The monument was built in 1896 for the 1000th anniversary (Millenium) of the Hungarian State.  - A Milleniumi Emlékmű Magyarország ezeredéves fennállására készült 1896-ben.


b./ The opening celebration in 1896.  - Az 1896-os megnyitó ünnepség.





c./ Preparation for the 1st-of-May celebration in 1919 during the "short communism" (Tanácsköztársaság)  - Május elseje ünneplésére készülnek  1919-ben, a Tanácsköztársaság idején.


d./ The moument and the obelisque were covered by red textile as the color of communism.  - Az emlékművet és az oszlopt is vörös drapériával vonták be.


e./ A new statue was erected: Marx with a worker and a peasant.  - Egy új szobrot is állítottak: Marx egy munkással és egy paraszttal.f./ Further developments of teh monument in 1925.  - Az emlékmű továbbfejlesztett képe 1925-ből.
