ABU SIMBEL

Abu Simbel lies 280 km south from Aswan. We traveled there by microbus. The convoy started at 4 a.m.,

behind the Nubian Museum. Abu Simbel is a magnificent place on the beach of the splendid Nasser Lake.

Lake Nasser was 'born' when the High Dam was constructed (1960).

The BIGGEST project of UNESCO: The Abu Simbel temples were moved. (This picture is displayed in the Nubian Museum, Aswan.)
