LOCH NESS, EILEEN DONAN CASTLE,
ISLAND OF SKYE, GLENCOE

We passed by the beautiful and famous Loch Ness, but 'Nessie' the monster was not
at home. Eileen Donan Castle was biult on a rocky island where three lochs meet
 - Loch Long, Loch Alsh and Loch Duich. The Castle is very romantic, and a 'real Scottish
experience'. Island of Skye is a world of natural beauty, with amazing landscapes and
breathtaking panoramas. Glencoe the beautiful valley  was one of the highlights of

Scottish Highland.

Loch Ness is the deepest lake in Scotland.
"Nessy" wasn't at home....
Have a look on Loch Ness!
Can you see there Monster Nessie?
Here you are...

The impressive Eileen Donan Castle sits on a rocky island where three lochs meet.
Look how rainy and windy it was!

The castle staff is preparing dinner.

In 1984 ithe Castle featured in the movie Highlander, with Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery.

The view from the bridge of the Castle (leading to the castle).
Real Scottish weather.

The black-faced ships were very common (and beautiful!) in Scotland.

We decided to visit one Scottish island. Island Sky is connected by bridge to the Mainland, so it was easy  to go.

The Island of Skye, situated off the West coast of Mainland Scotland, is the largest and best known of the Inner Hebrides.

Its natural beauty (hills, sea views), villages, history and wildlife attract many visitors.

Portree is the capital of Skye. Its harbour is surrounded by cute, colorful houses.

We took a ferry to go back to the Mainland of Scotland.

There were beautiful waterfalls everywhere, running down from the cliffs.

Glencoe means the 'Valley of Crying' , as it was a scene of an ill-famed massacre in February 1692.
The Campbells who stayed with the MacDonalds for some 12 days, then turned on their hosts in the early morning of 13th February, killing 38 of them whilst some tried to escape into the snowy hills and many of them died there.
The infamy of the massacre is “murder under trust”, murder of those who had offered them hospitality.
